Blake Lively Cohosts L’Oreal Event in Style

Leave it to Blake Lively to take Galentine’s Day, an occasion with fictional roots, to new heights. When the actress and spokesmodel was asked to co-host a L’Oreal Paris event to celebrate this special day for gal pals on February 13, Blake not only showed up, but she was involved with every imaginable detail, right down to plugging in the lights.

Blake attended the 2017 L’Oréal Paris Galentine’s bash in New York City’s Meat Packing District with her older sister, Robyn and their mother, Elaine. As you would expect from this charming fashion line, Lively paid as much attention to choosing her ensemble as she did to the party details and guests. Her playful chiffon dress sported demure long sleeves, perhaps to ward off the chill in the Big Apple.

However, sequined hearts and polka dots sprinkled on a dark background of silk left no doubt as to the occasion. The flirty, thigh-skimming silhouette of this silk chiffon dream was designed by Albino Riganello, courtesy of Abeer Al Otaiba’s (wife of UAE ambassador, Yousef Al Otaiba https://www.facebook.com/Yousef-Al-Otaiba-162542037255423/) mother/daughter label SemSem. Spike-studded stilettos by Christian Louboutin, an embellished lady bag and Blake’s dazzling diamond engagement ring, courtesy of her beau Ryan Reynolds, completed the red-carpet look.

Guests were treated to the ultimate girly slumber party, complete with makeovers, temporary hair dye, and romantic comedy but sans pajamas and with adult refreshments. Every surface was decorated with Pop Rocks and pastel marshmallows. Six makeover stations with a prominent display of L’Oréal products, two photo stations, a crafting table and a cookie-decorating station, all set up to invite liberal use, greeted visitors.

Guests were able to get makeovers, take home engraved heart necklaces and leave photo greetings for BFFs while enjoying a pink lemonade margarita, or two. Attendees were even able to write inspiring messages on a graffiti wall with metallic Sharpies while TVs all around them played scenes from Legally Blonde, the Bachelor and the First Wives Club. One fun event included a lip reading, which was comparable to a palm reading (http://nymag.com/thecut/2017/02/loral-party-guests-swarm-blake-lively-on-galentines-day.html).

In addition to making memories, guests also got to take home some goodies such as L’Oréal Infallible Paints liquid eyeliners and L’Oréal Infallible Paints lip glosses.
